Trusting God When You Don’t Understand

Why It's Hard to Trust God When Life Doesn't Make Sense

Scripture:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." — Proverbs 3:5

Reflection:
There are moments in life when nothing makes sense. You pray, you try to do the right thing, and still things don't unfold the way you expect. In those moments, it's tempting to rely only on what you can see and figure out.

But this verse reminds us that trust in God goes beyond understanding. It's easy to trust when things are clear. Real faith begins when they're not.

God sees the full picture—past, present, and future—while we only see what's right in front of us. What feels confusing or even frustrating right now may be part of something greater that you can't yet see.

Trusting God doesn't mean you ignore your questions. It means you choose to believe that His wisdom is greater than your uncertainty. Even when the path feels unclear, He is still guiding you.

Application:

• Identify one situation you don't understand and surrender it to God in prayer
• Resist the urge to overanalyze—pause and choose trust instead
• Remind yourself: "God sees what I cannot"

Prayer:
God, I don't always understand what You're doing, but I choose to trust You. Help me to rely on Your wisdom instead of my own. Give me peace in the unknown and confidence that You are leading me in the right direction. Amen.
